Ted Jacobson was quoted in Nature, October 12, in an article on creating a laboratory-scale imitation of a black hole emitting Hawking radiation. Jacobson who, in 1999, suggested that analogue radiation could be seen in the laboratory says that “… the possibility of gleaning new insights about black holes from the sonic experiments remains ‘far fetched,’ for now.”
