Sylvester James Gates took part in a panel “Stephen Hawking: The Power of Ideas” videotaped and broadcast by TVO.org, Ontario, Canada’s public educational media organization. The panel was one of the scheduled events celebrating the opening of the new Stephen Hawking Centre, Perimeter Institute of Theoretical Physics, Waterloo, Canada. Gates is a visiting Distinguished Research Chair.
